Propwall: KL Property Auction

My goals in life consist of 3 things. 

- Buying a landed property
- Giving the best to my family
- Getting married  

These 3 things are a challenge. At the tender age of 24, I am still single, slaving my life away to earn that little bit of money with hopes that it will slowly grow into a big pile of cold hard cash that will allow me to fulfill the above. My eyes almost popped out when I saw the prices of landed properties around Shah Alam area. Starting price is at 
RM 700,000. Check this site out:- Auction Homes. The only place that I can think of that has houses as cheap as 200k is the place where I’m staying now. It doesn’t stop there. Of course there will be a but. It is infested with foreigners. People around are rowdy, despite that newly built gigantic police station which is 5 minutes away from my house. 

It would either be that or a high-rise unit, which I have been brainwashed by my dad since I was young that it is not worth buying. Some of his wise words were- “you’ll suffer if your upstairs neighbors sewage system is leaking”, “you have to pay maintenance fee even if you’re done paying for the house”, “what happens if the lift breaks down”, “your car is not safe”, and the list goes on and on...

Maybe I’ll have to settle for a high-rise unit. Maybe the price of property will go down. Maybe I will strike lottery! Maybe the world will really end on December the 21^st, 2012. All the answers to these maybe statements will be revealed when the time comes. Meantime, don’t take my dad’s “wise” words too seriously. There are benefits which I really like from the high rise units. Gyms and swimming pools will be my ultimate favorite. We will not need to pay for a gym membership. That’s 1. Then we’ll have a fantastic view of the city if you pick the right unit at the right location, which will be useful during festive occasions. That I believe surpasses it all. 

Let’s not stop believing.
